Single-Tooth Implants

At Sugarloaf Smiles, we understand that everyone’s smile is unique. That’s why we offer a variety of implant options to suit each patient’s individual needs. Single-tooth implants are the most popular type of implant at our practice, accounting for approximately 90% of all implants placed. These implants can be placed in a single visit, and are typically inserted into the jawbone beneath the replacement tooth. The implant post fuses with the bone over time, providing a sturdy foundation for the new tooth. In addition, single-tooth implants help to preserve healthy teeth by preventing them from shifting out of place. If you’re considering an implant to replace a missing tooth, Dr. George can help you choose the best option for your smile.

Multiple Implants

All-On-Four implants, also known as ClearChoice full-mouth implants, are a type of dental implant that can be used to replace a set of missing or damaged teeth. There is no need to place an implant for each missing tooth, as the All-On-Four implants anchors can be spaced out to provide adequate support. The All-On-Four procedure consists of two different surgeries, about three to six months apart. After the initial removal of any broken, decayed, or damaged teeth, you will be given a prosthetic until your custom All-On-Four implants are ready to be placed. Full-mouth implants offer a number of benefits over single-tooth dental implants, including increased stability and denture support.

Why Make the Switch to Implants from Dentures?

They Feel Natural

Dental implants are designed to look, feel and function just like your natural teeth. Plus, they’ll give you the confidence to smile, eat, and laugh in front of friends and coworkers without worrying about your dentures falling out.

They Look Incredible

What makes dental implants such a great investment are the nearly-instant improvements you see in your new smile. Many of our patients report more self-confidence, and improvement in their personal relationships, and even their careers.

They're More Comfortable

Not only can dentures cause slurred or mumbled speech, they can also severely limit what you can eat. And as any denture wearer will attest, loose and uncomfortable dentures can be the stuff of nightmares!

Failed Dental Implants

Dental implants are one of the most popular methods of tooth replacement, and for good reason. They are strong, durable, and can last a lifetime with proper care. However, in some cases, implants may fail to provide the expected results. There are several reasons why this may happen, including poor planning, improper placement, inadequate bone or gum tissue, bad materials, or underlying health conditions. Even a simple crown and abutment can cause major problems. At our practice, we treat patients with single-tooth to full-mouth implants, as well as those who have problems with dental implants known as “peri-implantitis.” We are dedicated to providing the best possible care for our patients and ensuring that their dental implants are healthy and long-lasting.

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is a common procedure that helps reconstruct and repair the jawbone. Fragments of your own bone, synthetic bone, or donated bone are used in this procedure. The procedure itself is relatively painless thanks to local anesthesia, and it can typically be completed in just one appointment.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is an autologous platelet concentrate prepared from the patient’s own blood at the dentist’s office just before the oral/dental procedure. PRF was initially used in cardiac surgery and later in orthopedics, neurosurgery, and other medical specialties. The clinical applications of PRF in dentistry were first described in 2001. Since then, PRF has been used for various oral/dental procedures, including dental implants, periodontal surgery, gingival grafting, and apical microsurgery. PRF is a safe way to improve wound healing and tissue regeneration. Additionally, PRF doesn’t need any special equipment for its preparation.

During your complimentary smile assessment, we will be happy to explain your treatment recommendations, along with clear costs and payment options.

Many insurances do not cover dental implants, and others only cover a portion of the treatment. During your smile assessment, our team will gladly help you explore the details of your particular plan. Luckily, we offer a variety of payment plans to help make implants more affordable.

When we see patients for follow up visits, most of them tell us how surprised they were with how little discomfort they had. We take pride in our ability to provide our patients with a pain-free experience!

The average treatment is three to six months. Most of that time is just waiting for the bone to fuse completely with the implant. In more complex cases treatment may be longer.

No, dentures and partials can be placed over the implant during the initial healing time.

Patients who have replaced dentures with implants often say, “I wish I had done this sooner!” Not only are they eating their favorite foods again, they find that implants have improved every aspect of their life! It’s also important to remember that your jawbone diminishes over time with dentures. Dental implants will keep your bone healthy for much longer.
